There is major doubt of Troy Davis's guilt, yet he is still on death row being denied a fair trial.  The following report just came out a few days ago.

Troy Davis was convicted of murdering a Georgia police officer in 1991. Nearly two decades later, Davis remains on death row — even though the case against him has fallen apart.  The case against him consisted entirely of witness testimony which contained inconsistencies even at the time of the trial. Since then, all but two of the state's non-police witnesses from the trial have recanted or contradicted their testimony.  Many of these witnesses have stated in sworn affidavits that they were pressured or coerced by police into testifying or signing statements against Troy Davis.

This is the same type of justice that was metted out to John Wallace in 1948.  The local law enforcement did whatever they had to do to insure a conviction.  They wanted nothing less than the death sentence.  Eye witnesses were told that they would get the electric chair too if they spoke out on Wallace's behalf.  If they told the truth about what happened so they were forced to remain silent for their own protection.

In this day and age we know that a body can not be cremated by burning it over night with a cord of fresh cut pine wood and some gasoline.  So in 1948  a body was manufactured so a murder charge could be prosecuted. 

Sixty odd years later Georgia is still condoning such practices within their judicial system.  It's time for the good old boys to be gone and true justice to take hold in Georgia.
